emirates7 - Flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, marked its inaugural appearance at the Bahrain International Air(BIAS) 2024, which began today and will run until November 15th at Sakhir Airbase in Manama.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said, *"The Bahrain International Airis a key platform that showcases advancements and innovations in the aviation sector across the region. We are thrilled to participate for the first time, reaffirming our strong commitment to the Bahraini market, which we have been serving with pride since 2009.
"This event also allows us to highlight our newly retrofitted cabin interiors, demonstrating our dedication to passenger comfort and integrating state-of-the-art technology and design to enhance the travel experience."*
Flydubai introduced its retrofit programme earlier this year, completing upgrades on 15 Boeing 737-800 aircraft in 2024, with plans to finish retrofitting two additional aircraft by year-end. The initiative, aimed at providing a consistent and improved experience across its fleet, will extend into 2025 and cover up to 20 aircraft in total.
Bahrain remains a key destination for flydubai, with the airline operating over 2,800 flights to and from the country between January and October 2024. Since launching operations to Bahrain in 2009, flydubai has carried more than four million passengers between Dubai and Bahrain. Currently, the airline operates 31 flights weekly on this route.
