emirates7 - Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Secretary-General of the UAE Media Council, headed the UAE delegation at the GCC Under-Secretaries of Ministries of Media meetings held today in Kuwait.
Joining him were Mohammed Ali Mohammed Aldhuhoori, Executive Director of Media Operations at the National Media Office, and Maitha Al Suwaidi, CEO of Media Strategy and Policy at the UAE Media Council.
In his address, Al Shehhi expressed sincere thanks to Kuwait for its hospitality and commendable organisation of the event, and to the GCC General Secretariat for its consistent efforts in supporting media committee initiatives.
He highlighted the significant transformation currently taking place in Gulf media, which is moving beyond traditional formats to become a key driver of public awareness and cultural preservation. This evolution, he noted, increases the need for cohesive Gulf media strategies, high-quality content development, and digital space protection to uphold the values and interests of GCC communities.
The meeting addressed several key issues central to advancing joint media collaboration. These included the implementation of age ratings for electronic games, regulatory standards for Gulf media content, strengthening partnerships with regional and global media entities, promoting the use of artificial intelligence in media production, and launching leadership training for media professionals in the region.
The gathering is part of a broader effort to strengthen unified Gulf media initiatives, align strategic visions, and build a responsible media environment that adapts to global shifts while preserving the region’s core values.
