emirates7 - Dubai International Chamber, one of the three entities under Dubai Chambers, has officially opened a new international representative office in Dhaka, Bangladesh, as part of its ongoing efforts to deepen trade and investment ties between the two business communities.
This marks the chamber’s 35th overseas office, contributing to the broader ‘Dubai Global’ initiative, which aims to establish 50 international offices by 2030. The initiative is part of a strategic plan to reinforce Dubai’s role as a leading global hub for business by attracting foreign direct investment and helping Dubai-based companies expand into 30 key international markets.
The Dhaka office was inaugurated during an official ceremony attended by Abdulla Ali Abdulla Alhmoudi, the UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh, along with prominent figures from the Bangladeshi business community.
This expansion comes amid growing economic collaboration between Dubai and Bangladesh. In 2024, non-oil trade between the two reached AED 6.3 billion, a 9% increase from AED 5.8 billion in 2023. Reflecting this momentum, the number of active Bangladeshi companies registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce rose to 9,094 by the end of Q1 2025.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, emphasized the strategic importance of the move, stating: “Bangladesh is a rapidly developing market with vast potential for Dubai companies. The launch of our Dhaka office is a key milestone that will enhance business connectivity, promote investment, and further cement Dubai’s position as a top global business center.”
The new office will focus on strengthening ties with both public and private stakeholders in Bangladesh, while also promoting Dubai as a competitive global business destination. It will support Bangladeshi businesses seeking to enter the Dubai market with investment insights and market access strategies.
Moreover, the Dhaka office will assist Dubai-based businesses aiming to expand into Bangladesh by providing market intelligence, identifying business prospects, and connecting them with reliable partners to support their entry and growth in the local market.
