UN delegation visits UAE field hospital in Gaza, hails UAE humanitarian efforts

emirates7 - The UAE field hospital in Gaza received a high-level UN delegation headed by Dr. Ramiz Alakbarov, the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in the Palestinian territories, to assess the UAE’s continued support for the health sector during the current stage.

During the visit, the delegation toured the hospital’s facilities and received briefings on the medical and humanitarian services offered to the wounded, including procedures for handling emergency cases and the 24/7 efforts of medical staff to provide urgent care.

The visitors were also updated on the UAE’s ongoing initiatives to strengthen healthcare capacity and ease the humanitarian hardships faced by civilians. They expressed appreciation for the hospital’s significant role under current circumstances.

The delegation later inspected the warehouses of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, where they were briefed on available equipment, workflow, and the scale of aid delivered to Gaza’s population, as well as the preparation and distribution processes designed to ensure assistance reaches the most vulnerable.

Dr. Alakbarov praised the notable achievements of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 and commended the UAE’s leadership in providing vital humanitarian aid and its continued commitment to easing civilian suffering. He described the UAE’s efforts as a model of effective humanitarian partnership and crisis response.

He also lauded the UAE’s initiative in organising Gaza’s first mass wedding, noting the hope and emotional uplift it offers to families and youth during difficult times, and highlighting its role in reinforcing community resilience.

The visit concluded with the delegation underscoring the importance of continued humanitarian coordination and international cooperation to support the people of Gaza and strengthen their ability to endure current challenges.
