emirates7 - Acting on the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and under the close supervision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the UAE has pledged US$1 billion to support the development of Yemen’s energy sector.
The initiative reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable development in Yemen and improving the quality of life for the Yemeni people.
The pledge was announced during the UAE’s participation in the inaugural Yemen National Energy Conference (YFNEC 2025). UAE Ambassador to Yemen Mohamed Hamad Al Zaabi reaffirmed the country’s dedication to advancing sustainable energy development, overcoming sector challenges, strengthening public-private partnerships, and exploring new investment opportunities in Yemen.
Yemeni Prime Minister Salem bin Braik praised the strong bilateral relations and the UAE’s consistent support for Yemen’s pursuit of growth, development, and stability.
The conference drew wide international participation, including delegations from UN permanent member states and representatives from the Office of the UN Envoy to Yemen, as part of global efforts to meet Yemen’s energy and electricity needs and enhance stability and prosperity for the Yemeni people.
