emirates7 - AqlanX, a UAE-based artificial intelligence firm, has secured a US$10 million investment from Australia’s Lakeba Group through its venture DoxAI, marking a key step forward in the region’s digital transformation efforts.
The funding, made possible through networks developed under the UAE’s NextGen FDI initiative, will support AqlanX’s efforts to scale and localise DoxAI’s enterprise automation technologies throughout the Middle East.
AqlanX is driven by a vision to develop UAE-made, Arabic-first AI solutions focused on automating business workflows, boosting operational efficiency, and revolutionising enterprise document management for major organisations.
Its strategic roadmap is closely aligned with the UAE’s innovation agenda and digital economy goals, further establishing the country as a centre for AI development and tech-driven enterprises.
In a move to strengthen national AI capabilities, AqlanX, DoxAI, and Lakeba have also partnered with the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) to launch an AI Centre of Excellence. This initiative aims to nurture local talent, support AI research, and drive innovation from within the UAE.
The agreement was formalised in the presence of Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, who remarked that the collaboration highlights the role of the NextGen FDI program in enabling impactful, cross-sector partnerships and reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to fostering innovation in priority fields like artificial intelligence.
