Ministry of Finance clinches three Excellence in Procurement & Supply Awards 2025

emirates7 - The Ministry of Finance has been awarded three Excellence in Procurement & Supply Awards for 2025 by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), in recognition of its outstanding practices in procurement and supply chain management within the government's digital procurement system.

This achievement reflects the Ministry’s continuous efforts to modernize workflows, implement world-class procurement standards, and integrate sustainability principles into government operations.

Competing with government, semi-government, and private sector entities from the MENA region and globally, the Ministry’s success enhances confidence in the federal government's policies, procedures, and systems, affirming their alignment with innovative global standards and their international competitiveness.

Mariam Mohammed Hassan Al Amiri, the Assistant Under-Secretary of Government Finance Management at the Ministry of Finance, received the awards on behalf of the Ministry. She highlighted that this recognition underscores the Ministry’s commitment to fostering a modern, flexible organizational environment focused on integration and innovation while adhering to global procurement best practices.

She noted, “The Ministry of Finance's teams have worked tirelessly to transform strategic objectives into tangible initiatives," resulting in an effective procurement system that enhances spending efficiency and delivers value for money.

Al Amiri also expressed that winning three prestigious CIPS Awards reaffirms the Ministry’s commitment to transparency, sustainability, and global competitiveness. She emphasized that the Ministry will continue developing its teams' capabilities and expanding partnerships to strengthen procurement practices and utilize them strategically to support sustainable development.

Among the awards, the Ministry was named the “Overall Winner,” recognizing exceptional excellence in procurement and supply chain management. This category evaluates factors such as advanced digital systems, artificial intelligence, e-procurement platforms, and sustainable governance practices, alongside the responsible use of public funds.

The Ministry was also honored with the Best Collaborative Teamwork Project award, recognizing effective role distribution and collaboration across teams, which led to innovations or process improvements through strong partnerships.

Finally, the Ministry received the Sustainable Procurement Project of the Year Award, which celebrates initiatives that positively impact environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and corporate governance. This award highlights the Ministry’s leadership in driving procurement projects that contribute to these goals, further reinforcing the role of supply chain management in advancing sustainable development.
