emirates7 - In conjunction with the World Autism Day corresponding to April 2nd of each year, and under the slogan "Quality and inclusive education for all - towards an easier life", the Sharjah Autism Centre (SAC) is organisng an awareness campaign for autism spectrum disorder during April 2022.
This year's celebration focuses on the issue of inclusive education in the context of the fourth goal of the sustainable development goals within the goals of the United Nations, with the aim of raising the level of culture in society, and promoting the inclusion of people with autism spectrum disorder.
The slogan was chosen to emphasise the need for people with autism spectrum disorder to acquire the ability to take advantage of the possibilities and opportunities available to reach happiness and satisfaction, and develop their abilities and overcome difficulties and challenges.
Dr. Siham Al Hemaimat, Director of SAC, confirmed that the campaign slogan bears a call to support people with autism spectrum disorder to obtain good, comprehensive and equitable education, especially after the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to the temporary closure of educational institutions around the world and cessation of providing services, resulting in disruption of the learning process.
She also added that SAC continues to provide services to people with autism spectrum disorder in line with the slogan and strategy of the United Nations, by improving the work environment and education, to contribute to better and easier education.
