Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre sheds light on UNESCO’s Prestigious Ibn Sina Award

emirates7 - As part of its "Piece of the Month" project, Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre is celebrating throughout April the Ibn Sina Gold Medal, which was awarded to H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) in October 1998.

The award is considered one of the highest awarded to global personalities who have made tremendous efforts in the field of promoting culture and education, which is one of the main objectives of UNESCO.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah received the medal from Federico Mayor, Director-General of UNESCO, during a special session held in the presence of delegates of member states of the Organisation's Executive Council.

"Piece of the Month" is a project launched by Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre, and aims to shed light monthly on one of the distinctive pieces of history from the collection of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, which represents extraordinary achievements in various scientific and cultural fields.
