Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, President of Brazil discuss further advancing bilateral relations

emirates7 - His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, held discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. The talks focused on building upon the strong and historic relationship between the UAE and Brazil, with a shared commitment to deepening cooperation across key sectors that support sustainable development and mutual interests.

The meeting took place during the official reception of His Highness Sheikh Khaled by President Lula da Silva, on the sidelines of the 17th BRICS Summit.

President Lula warmly welcomed the Crown Prince and the UAE delegation, highlighting the deep-rooted and dynamic partnership between the two nations.

Sheikh Khaled conveyed greetings from UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Lula, along with best wishes for his health and continued prosperity for Brazil and its people. He also expressed gratitude for the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to him and the UAE delegation.

Reaffirming the strength of UAE-Brazil ties, Sheikh Khaled emphasized the UAE’s pride in its strategic partnership with Brazil—an enduring relationship grounded in decades of mutual respect, collaboration, and shared goals. He noted that this 50-year relationship reflects the leadership of both countries and their joint efforts to drive cooperation in essential sectors to promote inclusive and sustainable growth.

In response, President Lula asked Sheikh Khaled to extend his greetings and best wishes to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, expressing hopes for the UAE’s continued success and progress.

The two leaders reviewed the ongoing development of UAE-Brazil relations, which span five decades of close coordination and productive cooperation. Discussions also focused on ways to further elevate the partnership, particularly in key areas aligned with the evolving priorities and development aspirations of both nations.

The meeting was attended by several senior UAE officials, including Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade; Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Office of the Crown Prince; Maryam Eid AlMheiri, Chairperson of the Abu Dhabi Media Office and Advisor of Strategic Relations at the Crown Prince Court; and Saleh Ahmad Salem Alsuwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Brazil.
