emirates7 - The Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah has extended the deadline for submissions to the 8th Sharjah Award for Linguistic and Lexical Studies, now open until 31st July. The decision comes in light of growing interest from researchers worldwide eager to take part in this prestigious international award dedicated to Arabic language scholarship.

With a total prize pool of $100,000, the award promotes academic excellence in the fields of linguistics and lexicography. The prize is split between two main categories: linguistic studies and lexical studies. Each category offers a $30,000 award for first place and $20,000 for second place.

This edition focuses on two key themes: “Textual linguistic studies,” which examines texts on phonetic, morphological, syntactic, and lexical levels through modern linguistic approaches, and “Dictionaries of Arabic language sciences terminology,” which compiles specialized terms in disciplines such as grammar, morphology, rhetoric, prosody, phonetics, and philology.

By extending the deadline, the Academy provides additional time for experts in Arabic language sciences to contribute to a respected academic platform that honors scholarly contributions and enhances the global stature of the Arabic language.
