19th Sharjah Heritage Days opens in Wadi Al Helo

emirates7 - The 19th Sharjah Heritage Days (SHD) kicked off on Friday at Wadi Al Helo.

The inauguration was attended by Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler's Office in Kalba; Khamis bin Saeed Al Mazrouei, Governor of Wadi Al Helo in Kalba; Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, Chairman of the Higher Committee for Sharjah Heritage Days, and a number of officials from government departments and institutions in the Eastern Region.

The inauguration ceremony saw a remarkable lively turnout by visitors and heritage lovers who traveled around the heritage village, and expressed their admiration and joy of the heritage events, programmes and activities.

Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, said, "We meet again in Wadi Al Helo, where the Sharjah Heritage Days were inaugurated, to complete SHD openings in the Eastern Region. Before, we were in Khorfakkan, Kalba and Dibba Al Hisn. We express our sincere thanks to the Sharjah Institute for Heritage for organising this major heritage event, which pervades the various cities and regions of the emirate, and its importance and great role in instilling authenticity and belonging to this country. Thanks are also due to the volunteer teams that participate in this event, which receives a lively and remarkable turnout."

He stated that the slogan of the Sharjah Heritage Days is "Heritage and the Future", which is a great title that links the past, the present, and the future, pointing out that each city has its own heritage, diversity and richness, which reflects the richness and heritage of the Emirati heritage.

He continued, "Every year, the SHD fascinates us with something new in the world of heritage, and what makes us happy is the presence of this interaction and the lively presence of the new generation and children, who are always the focus of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, as we all work to implement and translate His Highness’s vision and directives."

Khamis bin Saeed Al Mazrouei, said that the Sharjah Heritage Days is a huge and distinctive cultural heritage event that pervades the smiling emirate every year, and we here in Wadi Al Helo, under the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, have a share in this major heritage event, which sees great interaction by residents and people in the area, where the Heritage Village in Wadi Al Helo has become a meeting, acquaintance and interaction point where heritage various colours, elements and components are eagerly awaited by everyone.

Dr. Abdil Aziz Al-Musallam explained contribute to introducing the new generation to the past of the fathers and grandfathers, and through its various activities, visitors can learn about the authentic heritage and the nature of life at that stage.
