emirates7 - Emirati driver Rashid Al Dhaheri secured second place in the opening race of the Formula Regional Middle East Championship at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
Formula Regional, a step up from Formula 4 (F4), brings together 28 of the world’s top young drivers to compete on the renowned F1 track in Abu Dhabi.
The 2025 Formula Regional Middle East Championship comprises five rounds, with three hosted at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit, one at the Dubai Autodrome, and the final round set to take place at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar.
Al Dhaheri’s car is prepared by PREMA Racing, the team he will represent in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA), which is set to commence in April this year.
Reflecting on the race, Al Dhaheri remarked, "Formula Regional presents a new challenge for me. Competing against some of the best young drivers globally means I’ll need to fight hard for every point. However, with a fantastic team and strong support, I’m confident we can achieve great things this year."
