emirates7 - The Dubai Sports Council (DSC) has announced that the second edition of the Dubai T100 Triathlon Weekend will take place from November 13th to 16th, 2025, in partnership with the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO).
For 2025, the event promises to be “bigger and better,” as registration will open to amateur triathletes for both the 100km race (consisting of a 2km swim, 80km bike ride, and 18km run) and the Sprint distance (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run).
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), emphasized that the event highlights Dubai’s dedication to enhancing its global position in sports tourism and aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. He also praised the success of the 2024 edition and expressed optimism that the upcoming event will draw even more international attention and boost Dubai’s economy.
Eisa Sharif, Director of Sports Events at the Dubai Sports Council, shared that in collaboration with the PTO, they plan to expand all three race categories in 2025. Additionally, a Schools Event and a Corporate Relay will be introduced to increase community involvement and support Dubai’s vision of promoting healthy and active lifestyles to improve residents’ quality of life.
Sharif also recalled how the inaugural T100 event brought together elite triathletes, including Olympic champions, crowning Belgium’s Marten Van Riel and America’s Taylor Knibb as the first-ever men’s and women’s T100 World Champions, both delivering exceptional performances.
Sam Renouf, CEO of the Professional Triathletes Organisation, said the 2024 Dubai T100 Triathlon was a major success and quickly became a must-do race on the new T100 World Tour. He expressed excitement about expanding opportunities for amateur athletes and corporate teams to take part in the festival-style event featuring swim, bike, and run competitions at the iconic Meydan Racecourse.
The 2025 T100 Triathlon World Tour has already held races in Singapore, San Francisco, and Vancouver, with the next race scheduled for London in August.
