emirates7 - The United Arab Emirates will participate with a fully integrated national pavilion at the 17th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), scheduled to take place in Istanbul, Türkiye, from July 22 to 27, 2025. This reflects the UAE’s commitment to advancing a world-class national defence sector, driven by specialised institutions focused on enhancing industrial capabilities.
The UAE Pavilion will be managed by the Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement (Tawazun), which plays a key role in empowering local defence industries and boosting their global competitiveness.
Several leading Emirati companies from the defence and technology sectors will be showcased, including EDGE Group, Calidus, and Capital Events. Capital Events will spotlight preparations for the 2027 editions of the IDEX and NAVDEX exhibitions.
Tawazun Industrial Park (TIP) will also feature prominently, presenting its strategic expansion initiatives to build a sophisticated industrial ecosystem. TIP will highlight its role as a national platform for attracting defence-related investment and high-tech manufacturers, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a key regional industrial hub.
Matar Ali Al Romaithi, Sector Chief of Defence and Security Industry Affairs at Tawazun, said that the UAE’s participation in IDEF 2025 aligns with its strategy to establish strategic partnerships and strengthen cooperation with regional and global defence markets. He emphasized Türkiye’s importance as a strategic partner in the joint pursuit of defence innovation and next-generation technologies.
Al Romaithi added that under the guidance of the UAE’s leadership, Tawazun continues to elevate national defence industries through strategic partnerships, access to advanced technologies, and investment in skilled Emirati talent.
This participation also aligns with Tawazun’s newly launched 2025–2028 strategic plan, which aims to build an integrated national defence ecosystem, promote the adoption of advanced technologies, and develop local talent. The strategy also seeks to deepen global partnerships, support economic diversification, and solidify the UAE’s position as a global centre for defence and security industries.
As one of the world’s largest defence exhibitions, IDEF 2025 offers a platform for the UAE to showcase its ambitions in defence innovation, sovereign technology, and a knowledge- and sustainability-driven economy.
