Khalifa Award for Education participates in Global Educational Supplies and Solutions Exhibition

emirates7 - The General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award for Education participated in the Global Educational Supplies and Solutions Exhibition (GESS) Middle East, held in Dubai in 2024.

During the event, the Khalifa Award presented an in-depth overview of its mission, objectives, and the categories for its 18th cycle (2024-2025), with a particular focus on assessing the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR) on educational quality at local, regional, and international levels.

Amal Al-Afeefi, Secretary-General of the Khalifa Award for Education, emphasized that the exhibition serves as a valuable platform to highlight cutting-edge scientific and technological advancements designed to enhance the educational landscape. She highlighted areas such as video game design, game-based learning, and e-sports, which offer significant potential for developing interactive, blended learning programs and other contemporary teaching methods.

Al-Afeefi stated, *"The Award prioritizes collaboration with organizations in the education sector, including participation in events like this exhibition, which draws around 8,000 specialists from 74 countries to showcase best practices, applications, and innovations in education."*

The award also hosted a panel discussion titled *"Artificial Intelligence and Early Childhood: Ethical Considerations and Implications for Future Directions."* The session explored the integration of AI systems into early childhood education, focusing on the increasing use of devices and applications by children, parents, caregivers, and educators.

Key topics included the ethical dimensions of AI in early childhood development and the practical application of ethical principles in designing AI technologies that support young learners effectively and responsibly.
