emirates7 - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, has launched the International Judicial Cooperation Service as part of the second phase of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme.
This initiative represents a major advancement in government service delivery by creating a fully integrated digital platform that facilitates international judicial cooperation. The platform links MoFA, the Ministry of Justice, UAE diplomatic missions abroad, and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to the UAE.
The updated service is available through a centralized digital channel, directly connecting the UAE’s overseas diplomatic missions, foreign missions accredited to the UAE, MoFA, and the Ministry of Justice.
Designed to streamline and expedite cross-border judicial procedures, the service allows for the secure and efficient exchange of judicial requests and related documents through three simple steps. By automating these processes, it significantly cuts down on delays typical of traditional methods and standardizes the handling of requests both domestically and internationally.
This progress builds on previous achievements by the two ministries recognized at the first Zero Government Bureaucracy Awards. MoFA was honored in the Innovative Solutions category for its Smart Mission project, which eliminated 80% of bureaucratic procedures, while the Ministry of Justice won first place for Best Government Team, acknowledging its efforts to reduce procedural burdens throughout the UAE government.
Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi, Undersecretary of MoFA, emphasized that this collaboration aligns with the directives of the UAE’s visionary leadership and supports the national strategy to enhance inter-agency integration and deliver user-focused government services.
He highlighted that the International Judicial Cooperation Service is part of a wider set of MoFA initiatives aimed at improving coordination and simplifying processes for foreign missions accredited to the UAE.
By implementing a unified digital system, the service enables faster and more effective exchange of judicial requests and supporting documents, thereby enhancing government efficiency and improving the quality of life for all members of society.
