Sweihan hits 51.8°C as extreme heat grips Dubai and Abu Dhabi with a chance of rainfall

emirates7 - Residents across the UAE are being strongly advised to remain indoors as extreme temperatures and intense heat continue to grip the region.

AccuWeather reports that Dubai is experiencing sweltering and hazy conditions today, with daytime highs reaching 44°C. These dangerously high temperatures pose a serious risk, particularly for vulnerable individuals and those working outdoors. Conditions will remain very warm into the evening, with overnight lows around 35°C.

Abu Dhabi is facing even more intense heat, with clear skies and a forecasted high of 46°C. Like in Dubai, authorities are cautioning the public to avoid outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day. Tonight, the temperature is expected to slightly to 34°C under clear skies.

This extreme weather comes just a day after Sweihan in Al Ain recorded a blistering 51.8°C at 3pm, as per the National Center of Meteorology (NCM)—one of the highest readings in the country so far this year.

The NCM also predicts generally fair to partly cloudy conditions today across the UAE, with a possibility of convective clouds forming in eastern and southern areas, which may result in isolated rainfall. Coastal and inland regions in the west could experience increased humidity overnight and into Sunday morning, potentially leading to fog or mist.

Winds are expected to be light to moderate, occasionally picking up during the day and stirring up dust in open areas. Both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are forecast to remain calm.

Officials continue to urge the public to take necessary safety measures, keep hydrated, and limit sun exposure to avoid heat-related illnesses.
