emirates7 - The Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR) has launched the second edition of the Sharjah Programme for Training and Qualifying Job Seekers, following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The programme began with an introductory awareness session titled “Administrative Awareness and Workplace Discipline,” marking the official commencement of this round.
This cohort includes 788 participants, who have been allocated to five training centres across the Emirate to ensure broad geographical reach and ease of access. The distribution includes 187 trainees in Sharjah City, 124 in the Central Region, 184 in Khorfakkan, 170 in Kalba, and 123 in Dibba Al Hisn.
The programme runs for six months and is divided into two phases: the first three months focus on specialised academic training, while the remaining three months offer practical, on-the-job experience in collaboration with certified training institutions and various government and semi-government entities.
Each participant receives a monthly stipend of AED 6,000 throughout the duration of the programme. To support this, Sharjah Islamic Bank has begun activating bank accounts for trainees to ensure smooth and timely stipend payments.
Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the SDHR, noted that the new cohort reflects the Emirate’s ongoing efforts to nurture and empower local talent. He underscored that the initiative aligns with the leadership’s broader vision to invest in human capital and expand employment opportunities for Emiratis.
