emirates7 - The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has introduced a suite of new talent development initiatives aimed at fast-tracking Emirati leadership within high-impact industrial sectors.
Unveiled at the Make it in the Emirates Forum 2025, these programmes are a key component of Abu Dhabi’s long-term industrial strategy. They focus on equipping UAE nationals with essential skills in artificial intelligence, Industry 4.0 technologies, and sustainable manufacturing to strengthen the national workforce.
The initiatives are designed to prepare Emiratis for advanced roles and leadership positions, fostering innovation and increasing productivity within Abu Dhabi’s manufacturing sector. Aligned with the goals of the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy 2031, these efforts highlight a strategic commitment to cultivating world-class capabilities among local talent, positioning Abu Dhabi as a global leader in next-generation industries.
To connect training with immediate employment opportunities, ADIO is collaborating with the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) to organize a specialized Industrialists Career Fair during the Forum. The event aims to directly place more than 100 Emiratis into pivotal roles within the industrial sector, reinforcing the broader objective of expanding national engagement in Abu Dhabi’s economic transformation.
In partnership with Rabdan Academy, a prominent institution specializing in security, emergency response, and crisis management, ADIO will also roll out an Upskilling Talent Development Programme. Targeted at over 100 Emiratis already working in the industrial field, the programme is designed to enhance their professional development, increase productivity, and support long-term career growth.
A flagship element of these initiatives is the Industry 4.0 and Sustainability training programme, co-developed with EDGE Learning Innovation Factory and TÜV SÜD. This globally accredited, hands-on training will cover areas such as automation, digitalization, and eco-friendly manufacturing processes, creating a pipeline of skilled Emirati professionals ready to lead in future-focused industries. The programme aims to generate 1,000 new job opportunities for UAE nationals by 2031.
Mohammad Al Kamali, Chief Industry and Trade Officer at ADIO, stated, “These talent initiatives represent a direct investment in our future nation-builders. By fostering key skills and unlocking global opportunities, we are strengthening Abu Dhabi’s industrial competitiveness and empowering Emiratis to lead industrial innovation both regionally and internationally.”
Overall, ADIO’s initiatives reflect a forward-looking strategy rooted in sustainable industrial development, driven by homegrown expertise. With a focus on innovation, knowledge, and national leadership, Abu Dhabi is shaping a resilient, export-oriented economy as the foundation of its diversified economic future.
