UAE represents successful model of moderate Islam: British writer
emirates7 - The 31st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) continued to offer thought-provoking discussion and valuable insights for attendees, with one of its latest sessions themed 'Islam and the West: Past, Present and Future'.

Ed Husain, a prominent British writer and a professor at Georgetown University in Washington DC, affirmed that Emirati diplomacy was able to promote moderate Islam and present the UAE as a successful model of a country that represents moderate Islam.

Praising the UAE as a pioneer with a future-focused mindset, Husain stated that the country is modern and outward-looking whilst remaining rooted in a classical understanding of Islam.

The session was moderated by Dr. Bilal Al Arfa Lee, Professor of the Sheikh Zayed Chair in Arabic and Islamic Studies at the American University of Beirut, Member of the Scientific Committee of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC).
