Ed Husain, a prominent British writer and a professor at Georgetown University in Washington DC, affirmed that Emirati diplomacy was able to promote moderate Islam and present the UAE as a successful model of a country that represents moderate Islam. Praising the UAE as a pioneer with a future-focused mindset, Husain stated that the country is modern and outward-looking whilst remaining rooted in a classical understanding of Islam.
