emirates7 - The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) launched the 'Joy of Eid' initiative, to provide Eid gifts to children of families benefiting from the Department, at the level of the Emirate of Sharjah, in conjunction with the blessed Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha.
The initiative was launched in order to enhance the principles of social communication among community members, especially during the occasions to achieve cohesion among community members, by developing integrated policies and providing distinguished social services.
Maryam Al Shamsi, the general coordinator of the project and director of the branches sector in the Department, explained that the initiative was well received by the community.
She revealed that the project aims this year to distribute 1,500 vouchers worth AED300 to children in Sharjah, starting in the middle of the Holy Month of Ramadan, highlighting the Department's keenness to provide an opportunity for the participation of institutions and private entities due to their roles in supporting the project through their financial donations.
Al Shamsi called on the community and its institutions to participate in the initiative by donating through available mediums, as part of their social responsibility, underscoring the importance of solidarity between community members and institutions from the public and private sectors.
