emirates7 - After making his debut at the Met Gala, Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan expressed gratitude to fashion designer Sabyasachi and his team for helping him feel at ease in an environment he felt wasn’t naturally his own.
For the prestigious evening, Khan donned an all-black ensemble crafted by Sabyasachi.
The designer created a floor-length, black coat made of Tasmanian superfine wool, featuring monogrammed Japanese horn buttons. The coat, which was hand-canvassed and single-breasted, showcased a peak collar and broad lapels. It was paired with a crepe de chine silk shirt and sharply tailored trousers made from the same fine wool.
Adding a regal touch, a pleated satin kamarbandh enhanced the bespoke attire. Khan accessorized with a custom jewelry stack and carried The Bengal Tiger Head Cane, an opulent piece made from 18k gold, adorned with tourmalines, sapphires, and a mix of old mine-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds.
Karan Johar, Khan’s close friend and acclaimed filmmaker, congratulated him on his stylish debut at the high-profile fashion event.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Sabyasachi remarked, “Shah Rukh Khan is among the greatest cinematic legends globally. His iconic performances and magnetic screen presence have earned him a massive international fanbase. My vision of the Black Dandy is meant to showcase his unparalleled star power on a global platform. Dressed in timeless menswear, enriched with the maximalist flair of Sabyasachi, Shah Rukh Khan embodies the essence of a magician, a superstar, and a timeless icon.”
