Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed and Maldives President Discuss Cooperation at UN Assembly

emirates7 - H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with President Mohamed Muizzu of the Maldives on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah conveyed greetings from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, wishing for continued progress and prosperity for the Maldives. In return, President Muizzu expressed his greetings and similar wishes for the UAE and its people.

The discussions covered various agenda items for UNGA 79, alongside joint cooperation in sectors such as economic development, tourism, renewable energy, climate, and investment. The two leaders also addressed mutual interests and reviewed their collaboration within international organizations.

Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the strengthening ties between the UAE and the Maldives, emphasizing a commitment to leveraging opportunities for mutual benefit and supporting developmental aspirations. The meeting was attended by Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State.
