emirates7 - The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Shanghai International Arts Festival to enhance cultural collaboration and foster mutual understanding between the UAE and China. This agreement coincides with the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

The MoU was signed at Abu Dhabi's Emirates Palace by Huda Alkhamis, Founder of ADMAF and Abu Dhabi Festival, and Li Ming, President of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, in the presence of Zhang Yiming, the Chinese Ambassador to the UAE.

Under this partnership, Abu Dhabi Festival and the China Shanghai International Arts Festival will jointly work on new commissions, co-productions, and cultural exchange initiatives, marking a milestone as the collaboration extends to the Arab world for the first time.

Alkhamis remarked, “This trailblazing partnership with the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, the premier arts festival in the Asia-Pacific region, represents a historic milestone for the Arab world. It highlights the Abu Dhabi Festival’s significant presence on the international cultural stage.

Expanding our reach to Shanghai enables us to leverage the arts' transformative power to foster connections, celebrate artistic expression, and strengthen the enduring friendship between the UAE and China.”
