UAE weather: Fog alert issued in parts of Abu Dhabi

emirates7 - Motorists in Abu Dhabi are advised to drive with caution today due to dense fog affecting several areas until 9 AM, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).

The Met Office has issued red and yellow alerts, warning of low visibility conditions in certain parts of the emirate. Dense fog has already been observed in Sweihan (Al Ain) and Al Ghuwaifat (Al Dhafra region).

Abu Dhabi Police posted a safety advisory on social media, reminding drivers that speed limits on roads are reduced to 80 km/h during foggy conditions and urging adherence to ensure safety for all road users.

Nationwide, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy at times, especially in some eastern areas. Those with dust allergies should take precautions when outdoors, as light to moderate winds may stir up dust and sand, the NCM warned.

Temperatures are forecast to reach highs of 42°C to 46°C, with lows ranging between 26°C and 31°C. In coastal areas, temperatures will hover between 23°C and 28°C, while mountainous regions will see temperatures from 24°C to 29°C.

Humidity will range from 55% to 75% along the coasts, and 60% to 80% in mountainous areas. The NCM also noted that humidity is expected to increase overnight and into Sunday morning, particularly in coastal and inland regions.

Sea conditions will remain calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
