Sharjah Crown Prince chairs inaugural meeting of Energy Council

emirates7 - H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Energy Council, chaired the Council's inaugural meeting on Wednesday.

The meeting, held at the Ruler’s Office, was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of Sharjah National Oil Corporation.

Sheikh Sultan welcomed the Council members and congratulated them on the trust placed in them by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in their selection. He wished them success in fulfilling their vision and goals, while working on sustainable solutions for the energy sector.

During the meeting, the Council discussed the key steps to achieve its objectives, focusing on developing sustainable strategies for the energy and water sectors. They highlighted the importance of promoting alternative and renewable energy sources and planning for future developments in the sector.

The Council emphasized the need for collaboration between the government and private sectors to enhance economic growth in Sharjah, diversify energy sources, and ensure efficient, sustainable energy delivery.

Additionally, the Council stressed the importance of drawing from the best international practices and models to effectively utilize various global experiences.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Chairman of the Oil Department; Saeed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority; Waleed Ibrahim Al Sayegh, Director-General of the Central Finance Department; and Hatem Diab Al Mousa, Secretary-General of the Energy Council.
