Which beach has the whitest sand in the world?

emirates7 - Tulum Beach in Mexico has been recognized as having the whitest sand in the world, surpassing renowned destinations such as the Seychelles and Greece.

A study conducted by CV Villas, a luxury villa travel agency, analyzed over 200 beaches globally. By using color analysis theory and Google Maps images, they determined the sand color's RGB code and compared it to the world’s purest white. Tulum Beach emerged as the top contender, with its sand just 1.4 points away from the purest shade of white.

In second place was Anse Source D’Argent in the Seychelles, which was 4.3 points off the purest white, making it more than three times less white than Tulum’s sand. This Seychelles beach is the only African entry in the top 30.

Interestingly, European beaches dominated the rankings, with half of the top 30 located on the continent. Marmari Beach in Kos, Greece, achieved the title of the whitest sand in Europe, with a mere 6.5-point difference from the purest white.

Italy had two beaches in the top ten: Tropea Beach, tied for fourth with Platja de Muro in Mallorca, Spain, and Cala Brandinchi in eighth. Spain also had another entry in the top ten at number six with Cala Pluma in Ibiza, and France’s Plague de Valras was ranked seventh.

Outside Europe, Stocking Island Beach in the Bahamas and Taylor Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos tied for ninth place, both scoring 8.5 points away from the whitest shade.

Spain leads the list with the most top 30 entries, securing six of the spots. While no English beaches made the top rankings, Scotland’s Luskentyre Beach placed 18th. Puerto Rico’s Flamenco Beach and Ireland’s Keem Bay were also noted, with scores of 10.8 and 23rd place, respectively.
