Dubai Press Club launches second edition of Arab Podcast Programme

emirates7 - The Dubai Press Club (DPC) has announced the launch of the second edition of the Arab Podcast Programme, a five-week initiative designed to boost the development of audio content creation throughout the Arab world.

This edition builds on the success of the inaugural programme launched last year and is part of DPC’s broader mission to support the growth of the region’s media sector. Through practical, hands-on training, the programme aims to equip aspiring and experienced content creators with professional skills and technical know-how in podcast production.

Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, and President of DPC, stated that the programme aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It reflects Dubai’s commitment to investing in Arab media talent and equipping them with the tools needed to thrive in the digital age.

She stressed the importance of strengthening Arabic content in digital media and shifting the focus from passive consumption to active creation. The programme contributes to Dubai’s wider media strategy by empowering young Arabs with creative and practical skills to compete in today’s evolving media landscape.

Al Marri also highlighted Dubai’s ongoing efforts to lead media innovation and talent development, noting that the initiative provides a valuable platform for aspiring podcasters to gain in-depth creative and technical expertise.

The training covers every aspect of podcast production — from ideation and scripting to recording, editing, and monetisation — with the goal of developing a new generation of Arab audio creators capable of producing content that resonates with the region’s cultural identity.

Maryam Al Mulla, Acting Director of the Dubai Press Club, said this edition of the programme was shaped by an in-depth understanding of the fast-growing Arab podcasting scene. It offers enhanced content, specialised topics, and practical training led by successful Arab podcasters who guide participants in building sustainable podcast projects.

Programme Director Mahfoudha Saleh affirmed that the initiative is part of Dubai’s broader vision to advance Arab media by enabling creators to develop high-quality audio content that can compete on a global level.

Starting on 7 July, the five-week programme is open to both emerging and experienced podcasters. It aims to foster innovation, storytelling, and creativity in the Arab digital media space. The programme will conclude with a special session featuring graduates from the first edition, who will share how the experience helped them craft original Arabic audio content.
