What to know about the upcoming iPhone 16?

emirates7 - Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 16 lineup is set to launch soon in September, and new details about the cameras have emerged. According to the latest report from AppleInsider, the devices will feature significant camera upgrades, along with a rumored new capture button that could change mobile photography. Here’s what to expect from the upcoming iPhone series.

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus

The iPhone 16 and the larger iPhone 16 Plus will continue to feature a dual-camera setup, but with a new vertically stacked design, as seen in recent dummy models. This marks a shift from the previous diagonal arrangement, giving the devices a fresh look.

The primary camera will remain a 48MP sensor with an f/1.6 aperture, offering 1X and 2X optical zoom for sharp, detailed images. The secondary ultra-wide camera will see a significant upgrade with a faster f/2.2 aperture, up from f/2.4 in earlier models, enhancing low-light photography by allowing more light into the sensor.

Additionally, for the first time, the non-Pro models are expected to support macro photography, enabling more users to take stunning close-up shots.

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will receive even more substantial camera enhancements. While the primary 48MP camera remains unchanged with an f/1.78 aperture and 2X optical zoom, the telephoto and ultra-wide lenses will see major improvements.

The 5X telephoto lens, previously limited to the Pro Max model, will now be included in both Pro models, replacing the 3X telephoto lens found in the iPhone 15 Pro. This new 12MP lens with an f/2.8 aperture will offer impressive zoom capabilities without sacrificing image quality.

The ultra-wide lens will undergo a dramatic upgrade, increasing to 48MP and featuring pixel-binning technology similar to the primary camera. This enhanced ultra-wide camera will also support 48MP ProRaw photos.
