Japan records 0.2 percent in producer prices in June

emirates7 - Japan's producer prices dropped by 0.2 percent in June, according to data released by the Bank of Japan on Thursday. The decline was in line with market expectations and followed a revised 0.1 percent decrease in May, which was initially reported as a 0.2 percent fall.

On a yearly basis, producer prices increased by 2.9 percent, matching projections but easing from May’s revised 3.3 percent rise, previously reported as 3.2 percent.

The Bank also noted that export prices edged up 0.1 percent month-on-month but were 1.6 percent lower compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, import prices declined by 1.6 percent on the month and dropped 6.1 percent year-on-year in June.
