emirates7 - H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, ordered AED6 million to hold a camel racing festival in Al Dhaid Square during the 2022-2023 season.
The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) extended its highest thanks and appreciation to His Highness for the generous support, in which Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the SSC, expressed the gratitude of the athletes and enthusiasts of heritage sports for the support, stressing that it is an important qualitative addition to sports and athletes in Sharjah, and will enhance the ancient Arab heritage of camel racing in the UAE.
Al Hazami added that the SSC will coordinate with the Sharjah Camel Racing Club (SCRC) to enrich the season with festival races and provide the ingredients for success at all levels.
For his part, Matar Ali bin Huwaiden, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the SCRC, expressed the thanks and appreciation of camel racing lovers to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for this generosity and support for reviving the heritage of fathers and grandfathers.
