Beirut Airport receives 23rd relief plane carrying 35 tonnes of medical supplies as part of ‘UAE stands with Lebanon’

emirates7 - Beirut International Airport has received the 23rd UAE relief flight as part of the "UAE Stands with Lebanon" campaign, delivering 35 tonnes of medical supplies, including advanced devices, equipment, and essential medical items for hospitals and healthcare centers across Lebanon.

This additional aid follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the oversight of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, with guidance from H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Families Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman of the Emirates International Aid Agency, reiterated the UAE’s unwavering commitment to alleviating the hardships faced by the Lebanese people, particularly in healthcare, social welfare, and economic recovery.

He highlighted that the demand for medical supplies and equipment to address the ongoing crisis was greater than ever. Al Shamsi also noted that this 23rd relief flight is part of a continuous series of aid efforts, both by air and sea, that the UAE has been sending to Lebanon. He assured that the UAE would continue to provide unlimited support to Lebanon and other nations affected by conflicts and disasters, working closely with local and international relief agencies.

The "UAE Stands with Lebanon" campaign, launched in October of last year, involved both official government aid and public support. Despite the campaign concluding in early January, the UAE has consistently delivered large amounts of food, medical supplies, and shelter equipment to Lebanon.
