This visit is part of the UAE Government Leaders Programme’s comprehensive training agenda, aimed at exposing participants to global development models and encouraging sustainable knowledge exchange through practical learning. The itinerary included key Vietnamese cities such as Hanoi, Dien Bien, and Ba Vi, offering insights into leadership development and strategies for social impact.
Participants gained direct exposure to Vietnam’s development journey and inclusive growth model, recognising the country’s rising importance as a regional economic hub. The visit also allowed them to engage with key issues such as water sustainability and community development.
Through meetings with Vietnamese officials and UNICEF representatives, participants explored Vietnam’s achievements in human capital development, economic transformation, and investment. The programme featured several immersive learning tracks. These included “Purpose-Driven Leadership,” which tackled real-world challenges like clean water access in cooperation with UNICEF; “Discovering Inner Leadership,” focused on self-awareness and resilience; and “Strategic Insight,” which explored Vietnam’s transformation and its policy implications. Other modules examined global governance trends and community engagement strategies.
In Dien Bien, participants designed practical, scalable solutions for climate-resilient water systems aimed at benefiting more than 20,000 people. These experiences enhanced their adaptability, emotional intelligence, and ability to work across cultures. The delegation presented their recommendations and proposals to UNICEF, shaped by their on-ground insights.
The delegation also visited Vingroup, Vietnam’s leading private-sector company, and toured facilities such as VinUniversity and VinFast—Vietnam’s flagship electric vehicle producer—highlighting the country’s industrial progress.
In partnership with Vietnamese authorities and UNICEF, participants co-developed actionable solutions to address water scarcity, a major issue affecting children's health in vulnerable areas. These initiatives aimed to deliver long-term, community-level improvements.
The mountainous Ba Vi region hosted a leadership retreat focused on personal development, self-discovery, and cultivating adaptive leadership. This reflective experience encouraged participants to step back from daily responsibilities, evaluate their leadership style, and generate forward-thinking ideas.
The current iteration of the UAE Government Leaders Programme 2.0 features an advanced leadership development framework centered on self-learning, global benchmarking, and transformational leadership tools. Participants are trained to lead change, execute national projects, and build their capacity through a blend of theory and hands-on application.
The programme stands out for its integrated approach, merging real-world case studies, innovation project development, and experiential learning to foster both personal and professional growth. It offers a comprehensive roadmap for nurturing Emirati leaders, combining global insights with skill-building to tackle future challenges and lead impactful change.
