emirates7 - Etihad Airways’ inaugural Airbus A321LR is scheduled to begin commercial operations on August 1, 2025, following final preparations.
The aircraft’s initial route will connect Abu Dhabi with Phuket, with future plans to expand service to cities such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Copenhagen, Milan, Paris, and Zurich.
The A321LR touched down at Abu Dhabi International Airport on Friday as flight EY3210 and was greeted with a celebratory reception by Etihad staff and key stakeholders, marking a significant milestone for the airline.
This arrival contributes to Etihad’s strong growth trajectory, which has seen 27 new routes launched or announced in 2025 alone.
An additional nine A321LRs are expected to join the fleet throughout the year, further enhancing Abu Dhabi’s role as a major global aviation hub and advancing the airline’s Journey 2030 goal of transporting 38 million passengers annually.
