China's SMEs active in patent innovation

emirates7 - The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has reported that the growing industrialization of patents in China has significantly contributed to the expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) engaged in patent innovation.

According to People's Daily Online, as of November, 73.5% of valid domestic invention patents were held by enterprises, with SMEs owning a substantial portion of these patents.

Among the valid invention patents owned by SMEs in 2024, 75.3% pertain to independently developed innovations, marking a 3.9 percentage point increase compared to the previous year. Additionally, the industrialization rate of valid invention patents held by SMEs has risen to 55.1%, reflecting a 3.6 percentage point growth from the prior year.
