emirates7 - The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has signed four strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with LOCAI, Siemens Advanta, Core42, and Presight AI Technologies at GITEX Global 2024. This marks a significant advancement in the Department's ongoing efforts to enhance Abu Dhabi's technological infrastructure.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of DMT, along with other senior officials.
Dr. Saif Al Nasri from the DMT commented on the agreements, stating, “Collaborating with these leading innovators allows us to make substantial progress in ensuring that our infrastructure is not only efficient but also resilient. By leveraging cutting-edge ideas and solutions, we aim to enhance the overall well-being of everyone in Abu Dhabi. We are confident that these partnerships will have a lasting impact on key sectors, further solidifying our position at the forefront of progress.”
Through its collaborations with LOCAI and Core42, DMT will gain access to tailored solutions designed to promote innovations in smart cities, big data, and artificial intelligence, as well as support its transition to cloud services. These objectives will be achieved through strategic initiatives and the application of models that demonstrate the benefits of the Department's development projects.
Siemens Advanta will enhance DMT’s operational efficiency and reduce energy consumption by offering comprehensive solutions integrated into the Smart and Cognitive Cities program, enabling the development of future-ready urban environments.
Lastly, Presight AI Technologies will assist the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) within DMT in researching, developing, and implementing artificial intelligence technologies in the mobility sector. This includes improving transportation efficiency and safety through traffic management solutions, fleet management software, EV charging infrastructure management, a commercial transport AI system, and transport safety initiatives. Additionally, it will facilitate knowledge transfer and capacity building in AI while proposing scalable pilot projects in the mobility sector.
These strategic partnerships underscore DMT’s commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability throughout the Emirate, accelerating its progress towards smarter urban development that prioritizes future readiness.
