emirates7 - The Sharjah Executive Council convened at the Sharjah Ruler's Office under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Council.
During the meeting, the Council discussed various agenda items related to the oversight of government departments and agencies, focusing on improving their performance to enhance services for citizens, promote societal cohesion across diverse groups, and sustain growth in key sectors.
In line with the directives of the Ruler of Sharjah, the Council reviewed a report on the supplementary grant for retirees. This grant applies to retirees from federal entities, other local emirate governments, or the private sector who are registered in Sharjah, ensuring that their total income reaches a minimum of AED 17,500. The initiative aims to provide a dignified standard of living for retirees in the emirate and enhance their financial and social well-being, along with that of their families.
The report revealed that 5,118 people benefit from the supplementary grant, with a total expenditure exceeding AED 473 million. The Council also reviewed key statistics, figures, comparisons, and recommendations.
Additionally, the Council assessed preparations for Sharjah's 53rd National Day celebrations. The report highlighted planned events, exhibitions, and educational sessions scheduled across Sharjah's cities and regions, along with the visual identity created for the festivities. This design draws inspiration from the 2024 "Year of Sustainability" initiative.
The Council emphasized that the activities should appeal to all community segments, reinforce national identity among the younger generation, and reflect pride and joy in the union's achievements. The celebrations will also pay tribute to the founding leaders and their efforts in uniting the nation.
