Mohamed Al Balooshi, Executive Director of the Community Engagement and Sports Sector at DCD, emphasized that these changes are designed to encourage greater volunteer participation across different sectors and promote a unified approach to community development.
In 2023, Abu Dhabi recorded over 873,787 volunteer hours, reflecting a 63 percent increase from the previous year, highlighting the growing impact of volunteerism. The Authority of Social Contribution - Ma’an and Emirates Foundation play key roles in supporting volunteerism through various programs and initiatives aimed at building a stronger, more cohesive society.
Maysa Alnuwais, Executive Director at Ma’an, explained that the revised policy would enhance efforts to meaningful volunteer opportunities that address social priorities, further contributing to the well-being of Abu Dhabi’s communities.
