Dubai Police sponsor Umrah trip for over 70 employees, retired staff

emirates7 - A group of 76 employees and retired staff of the Dubai Police, both men and women, will have their Umrah pilgrimage fully sponsored. This marks the seventeenth group to undertake the journey, and it is the second Umrah trip organized in 2024.

The pilgrimage will last for six days, with time spent in both Makkah and Madinah, as explained by Abdullah Al Falahi from the Islamic Affairs and Tolerance Section.

Participants received religious, practical, and health guidance in preparation for the trip, which is set to begin on Wednesday from Dubai International Airport (DXB).

Sheikh Dr. Sharif Abdullah, the accompanying preacher, provided participants with instructions on proper conduct during their visit to Makkah and Madinah. He also covered the psychological preparation required for the pilgrimage, the concept of Ihram, its practices and restrictions, and offered a detailed explanation of the Umrah rituals and their religious significance.

This initiative is part of Dubai Police’s efforts to enhance employee well-being and reward their hard work. The participants expressed their gratitude and happiness towards the General Command of Dubai Police for the opportunity.

The preparatory meeting was organized by the Islamic Affairs and Tolerance Section of the Security Awareness Department, following directives from Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness. The meeting took place at the General Department of Forensics and Criminology.
