emirates7 - UAE citizens planning to perform Haj in 2025 can begin registering for the pilgrimage starting tomorrow, September 19, according to an announcement made on Wednesday. The registration period will remain open until September 30.
Citizens can register through the smart app or website of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat (Awqaf UAE).
To be eligible for registration, applicants must:
- Be UAE citizens
- Be at least 12 years old
- Not have performed Haj in the last five years
Priority will be given to people of determination, first-time pilgrims, individuals with incurable diseases, the elderly, and their relatives or companions.
For the 2025 pilgrimage, the UAE has been allocated 6,228 slots by Saudi Arabia's Haj authorities.
Awqaf UAE, in collaboration with Saudi officials, will issue Haj permits and 'Nusuk' cards to ensure that pilgrims receive the necessary support, including medical, legal, and logistical services.
Regular evaluations of Haj campaigns and their associated teams will be conducted to ensure compliance with set standards. Additionally, awareness programs will be introduced in the coming months to help guide pilgrims on their spiritual journey. Dedicated hotlines will also be available during the pilgrimage season.
This year, approximately 1.8 million pilgrims performed Haj, with 1.6 million coming from outside Saudi Arabia.
