In many Islamic countries, including those in the Gulf, the Prophet's birthday is observed on the 12th of Rabi' Al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar. In the UAE, a public holiday has been declared for both private and public sectors on Sunday, September 15. In Sharjah, public parking will be free on that day, except for zones that require seven-day paid parking, identifiable by blue signs.
