UAE President receives written message from President of Brazil

emirates7 - President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a written communication from Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva concerning bilateral ties between the UAE and Brazil. The message was delivered to H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his meeting with Mauro Vieira, the Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Abu Dhabi.

The meeting marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations, which began in June 1974. Both leaders discussed various topics of mutual interest, including economic, commercial, cultural, investment, development, and climate-related collaborations, reflecting the strong bilateral relationship.

Sheikh Abdullah praised Vieira's visit and reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to strengthening ties across multiple sectors. The discussion also touched on Brazil's presidency of the G20, which is focused on the theme "Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet." Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the UAE's active participation in the G20, supporting Brazil's goals, particularly in areas such as poverty eradication, sustainable development, energy transitions, and global governance.

In addition, the ministers exchanged views on regional and global issues. After the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah hosted a dinner in honor of the Brazilian Foreign Minister and his delegation. The event was attended by several UAE officials, including Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Ahmed Al Sayegh, Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, and Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri.
