UAE's Cyber Sniper initiative continues developing government employees' knowledge, skills

emirates7 - The UAE Cybersecurity Council announced the successful completion of a new round of specialized training sessions under the “Cyber Sniper” initiative, a comprehensive cybersecurity training program aimed at enhancing the expertise of UAE government employees in the rapidly changing field of cybersecurity.

Launched last year by the Cybersecurity Council in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), and delivered by top international cybersecurity partners such as SANS, EC-Council, Offsec, and CyberGate Defense, the Cyber Sniper initiative is a core component of the council's broader strategy to secure the nation's digital infrastructure. It aims to facilitate a secure digital transformation and improve the ability of government bodies to defend against emerging cyber threats while enhancing their overall capabilities.

Participants received training in "ethical hacking" and cybersecurity practices, equipping them with the skills to understand various cyber-attack strategies and assess information systems and networks for vulnerabilities.

Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, highlighted that the Cyber Sniper initiative reflects the nation's strong commitment to becoming a global leader in cybersecurity. He noted that the program helps to build a highly skilled national workforce capable of safeguarding critical infrastructure and effectively responding to evolving cyber risks.

This initiative plays a crucial role in the Council’s broader strategy, aligned with the "We the UAE 2031" vision, to secure the country's digital infrastructure, support safe digital transformation, and enhance government agencies' preparedness to counter emerging cyber threats.
