emirates7 - The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police and the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at collaborating to safeguard the environment in Abu Dhabi. Under this agreement, both organizations will enforce environmental legislation, raise awareness about conservation, and promote sustainability practices in alignment with the UAE’s Year of Sustainability initiative.
Major General Maktoum Ali Al Sharifi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Police, and Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of EAD, signed the MoU in the presence of officials from both entities. Al Sharifi emphasized the significance of enhancing cooperation with government agencies to achieve shared strategic objectives. He highlighted that the MoU outlines key requirements and developments essential for improving environmental protection and sustainability through adherence to environmental laws.
Dr. Shaikha Al Dhaheri stated that the MoU aims to strengthen collaboration between EAD and the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police, promoting joint environmental initiatives for community environmental security and prosperity as per Abu Dhabi government directives. They will also a joint platform to address environmental challenges, conduct awareness campaigns on environmental laws, implement smart monitoring systems, and develop a comprehensive training plan for relevant authorities to ensure best practices are followed.
