DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Organisation, ICRC sign MoU

emirates7 - The DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Organisation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in recognition of the International Day of Charity.

This MoU is designed to enhance cooperation on humanitarian and educational projects, reflecting the commitment of both organizations to advancing global humanitarian goals and promoting educational initiatives that contribute to sustainable development.

The MoU was signed by Amb. Dr. Abdulsalam AlMadani, Roving Ambassador for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean for the GCC, Chairman of DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Organisation, and Chairman of DISAB, alongside Clare Dalton, Head of Delegation of the ICRC in the UAE.

This partnership will leverage the expertise of both organizations to tackle pressing global challenges, improve humanitarian response efforts, provide critical assistance to vulnerable populations, and develop educational programmes to build capacity in regions prone to disasters.

Amb. Dr. AlMadani stated, "Our collaboration with the ICRC underscores our commitment to humanitarian work, ensuring that our educational initiatives reach those in need. Our goal is to make a lasting positive impact on communities worldwide."

Clare Dalton emphasized the vital role of education in enhancing humanitarian work, stating that this MoU is a significant step toward improving humanitarian impact and fostering innovation.

The agreement sets the stage for joint educational initiatives, including training and capacity-building programs aimed at empowering communities and humanitarian workers to respond effectively to crises.

DIHAD will combine its expertise with that of the ICRC to implement impactful educational programmes. This collaboration will focus on creating innovative training to enhance humanitarian skills, sharing knowledge to develop specialized programs for global professionals, and involving the ICRC in key elements of the master’s degree Programme in Sustainable Humanitarian Action at the DIHAD Humanitarian College.
