emirates7 - A teenage Emirati has earned international recognition for creating a robot designed as a frontline tool in healthcare.
Ali Humaid Al Loughani won the top prize, the gold award, at the Silicon Valley International Invention Festival 2024 in California.
The 13-year-old received this prestigious honor for his Doctor Robot project, which monitors key vital signs like heart rate, blood pressure, and temperature, and securely transmits the data to a cloud platform that doctors can access via a website Ali also developed.
Despite this achievement, Ali remains focused on future goals, with plans to participate in international competitions.
His next target is to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair (Isef) in 2025, a highly regarded global competition for school students.
“I’m excited about winning in Silicon Valley, but my main ambition is to compete in Isef 2025,” Ali said. “I plan to present two new projects alongside my Doctor Robot.”
Ali, a student at Al Kamal American International School in Sharjah and a member of Sharjah’s Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Science and Technology, has been passionate about innovation from a young age.
Doctor Robot utilizes the Internet of Things (IoT) to deliver medical consultations and enable continuous patient monitoring.
