emirates7 - Liwa Sports Club successfully wrapped up the 10th edition of the Purebred Arabian Horse Race at Zayed City Racecourse in the Al Dhafra region, drawing strong participation from horse owners and equestrian fans alike.
In the first round, Sama Al Gharbia, owned by Hamdan Suhail Al Mazrouei, took first place in the 1,700-metre race. Haizoom, owned by Saif Mohammed Fan Al Muhairbi, came in second, while Al Habib, owned by Ali Suhail Salmeen Al Mazrouei, secured third.
Hamdan Suhail Al Mazrouei continued his winning streak in the second round with his horse, Sabr Al Gharbia, claiming victory. Al Areeq, owned by Saif Asheer Al Mazrouei, finished second, and FKayed, owned by Hamad Ali Al Marar, came in third.
The winners were honoured by Mohammed Sultan Al Mazrouei, Director of Finance and Administrative Affairs at Liwa Sports Club, who praised the spirited competition and emphasized the club’s dedication to promoting purebred Arabian horse racing.
“At Liwa Sports Club, we are proud to uphold the heritage of our ancestors through this esteemed sport,” he stated. “These races serve as a traditional stage that brings together horse owners and riders, highlights the value of Arabian horses, and celebrates the skills of our youth.”
