UAE braces for highs near 47°C today, chances of rain

emirates7 - AccuWeather reports that the country is currently experiencing extreme heat, with temperatures holding steady near 40°C.

Today’s conditions are expected to be generally fair, turning partly cloudy at times, with the possibility of convective cloud development over eastern areas during the afternoon, potentially bringing rainfall. Temperatures will remain high nationwide, with coastal and island regions seeing highs of around 45°C and lows near 41°C. Inland areas will be even hotter, ranging from 42°C to 47°C, while mountainous regions will be comparatively cooler, with temperatures between 27°C and 37°C. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally picking up to fresh speeds of around 40 km/h from the southeast to northeast, stirring up blowing dust and sand. Humidity levels are expected to range between 50% and 70% across the UAE.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), there is a strong chance of rainfall across the country through tomorrow. This is due to the influence of an eastern surface low-pressure system interacting with a weak upper-air low-pressure system, creating favorable conditions for convective cloud formation. Sea conditions are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
