Zayed Higher Organisation sends global message promoting human fraternity on World Braille Day

emirates7 - The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination commemorated World Braille Day with a message promoting global unity and peace, inspired by the Document on Human Fraternity. The initiative addresses global challenges of division and intolerance, advocating for greater harmony, coexistence, and understanding.

In partnership with the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity and the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation, the organisation produced a Braille version of the Document on Human Fraternity to make its principles accessible to visually impaired individuals worldwide.

This initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to inclusivity, emphasizing tolerance and peace while raising awareness about the values embodied in the document. Through a video message, the organisation highlighted its expanded role beyond traditional services, aiming to empower People of Determination as active contributors to society. The Braille version reinforces the belief that everyone, regardless of abilities, can promote peace and tolerance.

As part of its broader mission to amplify the voices of People of Determination globally, the organisation seeks to foster cultural and social connections with visually impaired individuals by distributing the document in Braille. This effort aligns with World Braille Day, celebrated annually on January 4th, underscoring the importance of making knowledge and culture accessible to the visually impaired. The organisation highlighted Braille as a vital tool for connecting People of Determination with universal principles and values.

Collaborating with the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, the organisation also created Arabic Sign Language videos of the document for the deaf in partnership with the Emirates Deaf Association. Additionally, visually impaired employees of the organisation translated the document into Braille in Arabic and English, printing 100 copies to share its message of tolerance and coexistence with diverse communities.

To extend the document’s reach, the organisation translated it into Braille in Arabic, English, and Italian. It gifted 100 copies in Arabic and English to Egypt's Al-Azhar Library and 100 copies in Italian to the Vatican Library in Rome, ensuring the document’s values resonate beyond the UAE.

Further symbolising unity, the organisation involved members of People of Determination from different nationalities in creating a garden at its headquarters in Al Mafraq, Abu Dhabi. The garden, bearing the emblem of Human Fraternity, represents solidarity and harmony among the world’s peoples, cultivated on UAE soil.
